Minister of Foreign Affairs NP Saud said that the public would avail public services easily if the local levels were well-equipped with resources and facilities.

Laying the foundation stone for the administrative building at Paterwa Sugauli Rural Municipality in Parsa today, Minister Saud pledged that the federal government would support to make the local level more resourceful. Calling for reforms in public service delivery besides developing infrastructure at the local level, he viewed that the more the local governments were equipped, the better services the public would get.

Stating that education is the backbone of the country, the minister called for reforms in education system. According to him, the incumbent government considered an increase in the budget for education sector to address various problems prevailing in the education sector, including shortage of teachers and other human resources in public schools.

Also speaking at the programme, NC Parsa district committee President and Province Assembly Member Janardan Singh Chhetri and NC Parsa district committee Vice-president Ram Narayan Kurmi suggested that the local government, besides delivering on development works, should roll out programmes that would uplift living standards of the public.

On the occasion, Minister Saud honoured social activist Manoj Chaudhary who donated his private land for the construction of administrative building for Paterwa Sugauli Rural Municipality.

The construction cost of the building is estimated at Rs 60 million. which will have a conference room, said Dinesh Kumar Chaudhary, chairperson of Paterwa Sugauli Rural Municipality.
