KATHMANDU: The government has decided to immediately resume essential services in areas affected by floods and landslides.

A meeting of the Cabinet convened in Baluwatar on Sunday decided that electricity, roads and drinking water supply should be immediately resumed through coordination between the home, defence and physical infrastructure ministries.

The Cabinet also decided to immediately send relief to the affected areas, and not leave any stone unturned in the treatment of survivors.

To make sure that the affected areas are not hit by epidemic, the government has decided to depute additional health practitioners with additional medicines and medical equipment.
