Evening bus service launched in Pokhara
POKHARA: The Pokhara Bus Entrepreneurs' Committee has introduced evening bus service in Pokhara-Lekhnath Metropolitan City beginning from Friday.
The evening bus service has been launched to provide services to the residents of the metropolitan city till late evening hours, Committee Chairman Deu Prasad Gurung said.
The bus service will initially be available in two routes for now. The first route passes through Hallanchowk–Barahichowk–Rastra Bank Chowk–Birauta–Airport–Lekhanchowk–Bhimsenchowk–Nadipur to Bagar area whereas the second route straddles the Zero Kilometre–Sirjanachowk–Sabhagrihachowk–Chipledhunga–Hospital–Matepani and Kahunkhola.
More routes would be added on public's demand, Pokhara Bus Entrepreneurs' Committee Secretary Amrit Timilisina said.
The Committee plans to extend the service to other routes if there is such demand. The evening bus service will run until 9:00 pm. The Committee has fielded at least eight buses for the evening hour services. It currently operates 397 modern town buses in all 33 wards of the metropolis.
