Body of ex-Home Minister Madhav Ghimire's brother found

CHITWAN: The body of the former Home Minister Madhav Ghimire's brother, Mohan Ghimire, has been found after a search lasting well over a week.*

The mortal remains of Mohan Ghimire was found at the Bagai section of the Trishuli River in Devghat VDC-4 in Tanahun district, the Chitwan District Police Office said.

A fisherman had spotted Ghimire's body. Subsequently, a team commanded by Superintendent of Police (SP) Basanta Bahadur Kunwar had reached the site. The police identified the body on basis of an identity card and an ATM card inside a wallet Ghimire was carrying.

The search still continues as the former minister and his another brother, Prakash, still remain unaccounted for.

A jeep carrying seven persons including the former Home Minister had plunged into the Trishuli River at Ghoptebhir section along the Prithvi highway on September 25.

The body of his mother and two others was found immediately following the incident. The driver who escaped with injuries is currently receiving treatment in Kathmandu.

The families, however, have assumed three Ghimire brothers dead and performed the final rites without collecting the bodies.
