Ex-lawmaker Budhani Devi Mahato attacked, seriously injured
GAUSHALA: Former lawmaker Budhani Devi Mahato was severely beaten up by an unidentified group last night.
A group of eight to 10 individuals, who brandished homemade arms and wooden clubs, attacked Mahato at her home, leaving her seriously injured.
Mahato was a member of the first Constituent Assembly from the UCPN-Maoist.
She is in serious condition, according to local Maoist leader Pikaru Paswan.
She is undergoing treatment in Janakpur Zonal Hospital.
When contacted, the District Police Office Mahottari said that it was yet to be informed about incident .
Mahato was physically assaulted by a tea shop owner in Gaushala after a dispute in 2013 also.
