Exhumed bodies of dacoits buried four days ago by the police are not only polluting the environment but also terrorising the locals.

Ten days ago, the bodies of dacoits with slit throats were recovered from the bank of a river in Pattargada VDC. Maoists are set to be behind the murder. The police had buried the bodies on the bank of Khadokhola at Top Bazar after conducting post-mortem.

Locals say that dogs and jackals were able to unearth the bodies buried in shallow graves. The villagers are horrified to see the dogs carrying human flesh all the way to the village.

DSP Ram Chandra Khanal of District Police Office, Saptari, accepted that the dogs had

unearthed the bodies of dacoits. The bodies were identified as that of Madij Miya, Isar Miya and Alijan Miya.
