Expelled students attack headmaster

Dharan, January 12:

A group of students attacked and wounded Kamal Pokharel, the headmaster of Public Higher Secondary School today. Pokharel sustained serious injury to his head in the attack which occurred at 7:30 am when classes were running. He was rushed to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.

The students, who numbered around two dozen, pelted stones at the headmaster’s office located on the second floor. The window panes and doors were also damaged in the brickbatting. The expelled students were assisted by some outsiders, Pokharel said. “I expelled these students because they were drug addicts. They came to take revenge on me,” Pokharel said. The expelled students involved in the incident have already been arrested.
