Explosives seized

TANAHUN: Police seized a huge cache of explosive materials used to make bombs from an abandoned house in Gorkha’s Siranchaur Rural Municipality-7 on Friday.

According to DSP Bheshraj Rijal, information officer at the district police office of Gorkha, various explosive items packed in two sacks were intercepted from Parashuram Pande’s house which the family abandoned after the 2015 earthquake. “The two sacks contained two socket bombs, six pieces of plugs and 1,760 detonators.

Locals had informed police after they noticed suspicious objects in the abandoned house. A team of Nepali Army defused the explosives.
