Far-Western University OCE unlocked

KANCHANPUR: The Office of the Controller of Examinations (OCE) of the Far-Western University that had remained padlocked for the past two weeks was unlocked on Thursday following a three-point agreement between the protesting All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) and the university officials to this effect.

However, the offices of the Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar remained padlocked.

Joint-secretary of the ANNFSU Kanchanpur chapter Kamal Rokaya said that they agreed to unlock the OCE after the Examination Controller was positive to address their demands.

The agreement included that the Examination Board itself should investigate the process of setting the criteria to rent the OCE, Rokaya said.

The OCE was padlocked since May 19, following a protest launched by the ANNFSU putting forth various demands.
