KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 11
A fast-charging station for electric vehicles has commenced operations at Kawasoti-11 in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Susta East).
The station is equipped to charge both small and large vehicles simultaneously, with the capacity to serve five vehicles at a time. Bishnu Adhikari, a local entrepreneur, stated that he established the charging station on his five kattha of land with support from the Nepal Electricity Authority. A total investment of Rs 10 million was made for this project.
Adhikari also shared plans to launch a 'refreshment center' for drivers. The station operates 24 hours a day, offering fast charging services, and is the only such facility along the 114-km Narayangadh-Butwal road section.
Adhikari mentioned that, on average, the station can charge around 50 vehicles daily. However, he noted challenges arising from delays in the expansion of the road. Once the road expansion project is completed, they plan to add 10 more charging nozzles to accommodate growing demand.
