Baitadi, December 8:

Ram Singh Mahara of Kuileda in Basantapur VDC-1 in Baitadi district beheaded his two-and-half-year old son with an axe last night.

According to the District Police Office, Baitadi, police found the head and body of Tarka Singh stuffed in a sack near his house this afternoon. He had also tried to attack his wife and his other son, who succeeded in fleeing.

Police arrested Ram Singh today. Ram Singh was behaving in abnormal ways for the last few months, locals said, adding that the motive behind the murder was not clear.
