Fear stymied quota implementation: Expert
Kathmandu, February 22:
Member of the National Planning Commission (NPC), Dr Rajendra Suwal today said the reservation policy for disadvantaged groups could not be implemented due to fear psychosis prevailing among the government authorities.
Dr Suwal added that the deprived communities should create pressure on the authorities to adopt it.
Speaking at a workshop on “Increasing Dalit Recruitment in all Sectors of Nepal’s Economy” organised by the Dalit Welfare Organisation (DWO), Dr Suwal said it would be easier for NPC to push plans and programmes of Dalit organisations jointly. He said Dalits should also think of developing entrepreneurship instead of seeking jobs only.
