KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Physical Planning and Works Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar today expressed dissatisfaction over the report of the CA Committee on State Restructuring and Distribution of State Power, which has proposed 14 autonomous states in the new constitution.

Addressing a programme organised by the Centre for South Asian Studies here, Gachhadar said there should be an autonomous Madhes region. “We do not accept the proposal that has fragmented the Madhes. Federal units should be carved as per the agreements reached between the government and the Madhesi parties,” he said, expressing hope that the Constituent Assembly would decide the matter in a way acceptable for all.
