Feedback collection begins in Khotang

KHOTANG., July 18

The process of collecting people’s feedback on the draft constitution started in Khotang on Saturday. Constituent Assembly member Bishal Bhattarai from Khotang constituency-2 began collecting people’s feedback from Khotang Bazaar.

CA member Bhattarai said that people from as many as 37 VDCs of constituency-2 were invited at Khotang Bazaar to discuss the draft constitution. Bhattarai said that they had arranged video recorder to record the feedback.

Bhattarai said that they would organise a similar gathering at Chisapani to collect people’s feedback tomorrow.

CA members PK Rai, Saraswoti Bajimay and JB Tuhure are planning to collect people’s feedback by organising a public hearing programme at Arkhaule in constituency-1 tomorrow.

CA members had flown to the district on chopper with copies of the draft constitution yesterday.

Meanwhile, National Human Rights Commission sub-regional office Diktel, too has begun collecting suggestions from public on the draft constitution. Loknath Ghimire, acting chief of the sub-regional office, said his office would give continuity to feedback collection programme for two more days. Yesterday, the office held an interaction with journalists, rights activists and lawyers, among others.
