Filing of nomination for polls taking place peacefully: EC
KATHMANDU: Filing of nominations by candidates to contest in the second round of elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies has started in a peaceful manner in 45 districts, Election Commission said.
Spokesperson at the Election Commission, Nawaraj Dhakal, said that the candidates have been filing their nominations reaching at the office of the Chief Election Officer or the Election Officer in respective districts.
The candidates have been filing their nominations for 128 members towards the House of Representatives and 256 members towards State Assemblies in 45 districts.
The candidates contesting in the election need to submit a copy of their citizenship certificate, evidence of being enlisted in the voter list and receipt of security deposit and formal letter signed by the party’s authorised person.
The candidacy of a candidate if he/she files their nomination from more than one place would be invalid from all places, said Dhakal.
The second-round of elections is taking place in 45 districts of hilly and Tarai region on December 7.
