Final hearing in Adhikary murder case deferred

The Chitwan District Court today deferred the final hearing on the murder of Krishna Prasad Adhikary, who was allegedly kidnapped and murdered by then Maoist cadres in 2004, for November 27.

Earlier, the court scheduled the final hearing for November 8.

Information Officer at the court Krishna Prasad Baral said the date for final hearing was rescheduled as Chief Judge Tek Bahadur Kuwar, who has been looking into the case, is on leave.

Earlier, two lawyers from the government side, seven from plaintiff’s and 12 from defendants’ side had participated in the hearing. Gehendraraj Pant of the court had recorded statements of Adhikary’s mother Ganga Maya from Bir Hospital and presented it to the court.

Krishna Prasad of Fujel, Gorkha was murdered when he was in Chitwan to meet his grandparents. Krishna Prasad’s father Nanda Prasad died while staging indefinite hunger strike, demanding justice for his son.
