Most wanted criminal Barud Singh arrested

RAUTAHAT: Police have arrested Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (Jwala Singh) military commander and Rautahat district in-charge Surendra Yadav, aka Barud Singh, a most wanted criminal who had been evading arrest for long. Yadav was wanted on a number of charges such as murder, hostage taking and extortion.

A kidnapping-for-ransom case has been filed against him in Sarlahi district. He is said to have been involved in the kidnapping of eight-year-old Golu Raya of Barahathawa-4, Sarlahi, about a year ago and received two million rupees in ransom.

“Two cases related to attempted murder, besides other six cases related to hostage taking, extortion and bomb explosion have been filed against him at District Police Office, Sarlahi,” said Superintendent of Police Mahammad Masaud Khan.

Though it is claimed that he was arrested from Sarlahi itself, sources have claimed that a team of Central Investigation Bureau had nabbed him from Sonpur, India, and handed him over to the District Police Office, Sarlahi. He was made public amid a press conference at the District Police Office today. “We are carrying out further investigation by keeping him in detention,” said SP Khan.

A permanent resident of Garuda Municipality-6, Yadav, 42, also has criminal cases filed against him at District Police Office, Rautahat.

Finally, notorious criminal Surendra Yadav lands in police net

KATHMANDU: A notorious criminal Surendra Yadav aka Barud Singh has been arrested on charge of murder, kidnapping, extortion among others from Parsa district recently.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team deployed from the Central Bureau of Investigation apprehended 36-year-old Yadav from Chapakiya of Birgunj Metropolitan City-3 in Parsa district on Sunday.

According to Police the most wanted criminal Yadav was sent to the Sarlahi Distict Police Office for further investigation and action today itself.

Lately, Yadav was hiding at assorted locations in the Metropolis.
