Financial succour for elderly fighting for life
Bajura, September 8
Sai Samaj Sewa Nidhi today handed over Rs 30,000 to Dalit Dip Chandara, 64, for his treatment in Kolti, Bajura.
The society had given Rs 30,000 to Chandara of Kolti VDC-4 after The Himalayan Times ran a story on Chandara titled “Elderly Dalit struggling for life due to multiple ailments due to fund crunch”. The succour amount was handed over to Chandara through CPN UML Bajura Deputy Secretary Gagan Rawal.
SSSN Chairman Dr Sundarmani Dixit said that his organisation had helped the elderly Dalit thinking that the support could help cure his illness to some extent.
Kin of Chandara had carried him to the District Hospital Bajura in two days. Chandara, who is suffering from fever, asthma, blood in urine and cough has been referred to Seti Zonal Hospital for treatment, said Dr Rohit Giri at district hospital.
