BHOJPUR: Two houses have been destroyed in a fire at Ramprasad Rai Rural Municipality of Bhojpur district on Friday morning.

The fire engulfed the houses of Dhan Kumar Rai and Tika Ram Rai of Katunje in Ramprasad Rai Rural Municipality-2.

The incident occurred when the fire — caught on from the remnants of a kitchen stove at Dhan Kumar’s house — spread to the adjoining house of Tika Ram on Friday morning, gutting both the houses.

The fire has destroyed property worth Rs 2.4 million, according to District Police Office, Bhojpur.

The police have further informed that food and clothing items, along with various documents within the houses, have been destroyed by the fire.
