DAMAK: The first case of dengue fever in last two years has been confirmed in Jhapa district of eastern Nepal.
A 52-year-old man of Damak-15 has been diagnosed with the dengue, a mosquito-borne tropical disease, according to Jeevan Chaulagain, a vector control supervisor of the Jhapa District Public Health Office (DPHO).
The patient is being treated at the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.
Two years ago, over a dozen people had been infected with the virus in the district, mainly in Damak, while two others had died in Kakarbhitta area.
