First PA meeting concludes, assembly to resume on Feb 10
MAKWANPUR: The first ever Provincial Assembly meeting of Province 3 that had commenced today at the provincial headquarters in Hetauda, has concluded.
Senior most member of the assembly Dormani Poudel had chaired the meeting. Poudel informed that the meeting will resume on February 10.
The elections date for the speaker and deputy speaker is scheduled for February 10.
This is the first Provincial Assembly meeting to be held from among all the seven provinces.
Representatives from various political parties had expressed their opinions at the meeting. 110 members from eight parties have been elected to the Provincial Assembly from Province 3.
Ashtalakshmi Shakya from CPN-UML, Shalik Ram Jammarkattel from CPN Maoist Centre, Indra Baniya from Nepali Congress, Ramesh Poudel from Bibeksheel Sajha Party, Surendra Raj Gosain from Nepal Workers and Peasants Party, Reena Gurung from RPP (Democratic), Rita Majhi from RPP, and Prem Bahadur Tamang from Naya Shakti Nepal had expressed their views and opinions.
The first PA meeting endorsed an interim action plan to operate the works of the Province; parties representing in the Province Assembly had already reached an understanding over the issuing which.
The meeting also nominated Rameshwar Phuyal, Ghanashyam Dahal, Geeta Shakya and Shobha Wagle to chair the assembly in absence of the senior most member.
