Five held for abducting Indian nationals

Biratnagar, February 12

Morang Police announced on Monday that five persons were involved in abducting Indian nationals on February 7.

During a press meet at District Police Office, Morang, security personnel made public the abductors. Narayan Sah, 57, and Madhukar Sah, 25, of Inaruwa Municipality-3, Tika Ram Chaudhary, 38, and Thakur Gurung alias Kanchha of Sundarharaicha Municipality-1 and Naba Raj Gautam, 24, of Sundarharaicha -12 of Sunsari were held for abduction last evening.

With the help of Indian nationals Baleshwor Sah, Suresh Kumar, Santosh Kumar and Susan Yadav, the alleged had held Raj Kishor Sah, Ajaya Kumar Sah, Akhilesh Kumar Sah,  Dinabandhu Tiwari, Baleshwor Rajak and Ranjit Kumar of Bendor of  Kagadiya district, India  hostage.

Baleshwor pretended that he had puja in his hometown in Siraha and handed Dinabandhu and others to the Nepali group staying at Monalisa Hotel at Sundarharaicha-10 via Jogbani border. The Nepali gang held them hostage in the hotel and demanded IC 600,000 as ransom from Indian nationals. However, they released Baleshwor and Ranjit after they paid IC 100,000 as ransom and after their release, the abductors demanded IC 500,000 from the remaining three. In the meantime, Raj Kishor managed to escape and lodge a complaint with Morang Police on February 8. Following the complaint, police arrested the abductors and seized IC 50,000 from their possession as well. Security personnel had rescued the victims from the residence of Narayan Sah at Sundarharaicha -9 on Saturday night.
