Five people have died due to suffocation after a house caught fire in Tulsipur last night.
The deceased have been identified as Sajita Khatun (14), Hasan Bakas (14), Masin Bakas (16), Nardin Ali (40) and Abid Din Ali (6) of Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City-5, the Area Police Office Tulsipur said.
A fire broke out at the Iram Footwear Godown on Tulsipur-5 'Nga' Line at 2:00 am today. Despite the fact that people were rescued shortly after the fire started, five people perished as a result of asphyxiation after the inferno went out of control. The victims' remains were retrieved at 7.30 am this morning when the flames had subsided.
Three bodies were discovered on the third floor and two on the fourth floor of the house. According to police, the fire started after the electrical meter exploded on the first floor, and the victims were unable to be saved because they were sleeping on the second and third floors while the fire grew out of control.
Nepal Police, Nepali Army and the Armed Police Force as well as locals, people's representatives were involved in rescue since the night.
