MYAGDI: Five people died on the spot and five others were injured in a jeep accident at Niskot of Myagdi district this afternoon.

The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained, informed the District Police Office, Myagdi.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bishwo Raj Khadka, the accident took place when the jeep (Ga 1 Ja 5106) heading towards Niskot from Darbang fell some 100 metres off the cliff near Bhalabisauni.

The injured have been brought to Beni for treatment. Of the injured, three are women and two are men. A team from the Area Police Office, Darbang, has started rescue operation and collecting bodies of the deceased.
