KATHMANDU: Nepal Police said five youth have been arrested on charge of US dollar smuggling from Chitwan. USD 22,587, worth more than Rs 2.39 million, was seized from their possession.

The suspects were arrested from a passenger bus during a security check at Ramnagar along the Narayanghat-Muglin road-section yesterday after police found out that the youth illegally possessed US dollar in different denominations.

All five are said to be permanent residents of Myagdi district.
