Five ward members elected unopposed

At least five candidates, who filed their nominations for the civic polls slated for June 28, have been elected unopposed in Rukum.
Four candidates at Ward No 7 of Bhume Rural Municipality and one at Ward No 6 of the same rural municipality were elected unopposed as only one candidate had filed nomination for the post. A member from women’s category, Dalit woman member and two other members were elected in Ward No 7 and a Dalit woman member representing CPN-MC were elected unopposed at the municipality, as per election officer Gyanendra Iteni.
According to Iteni, Man Kumari Budha was elected as a woman member in Ward 7 and Ram Kumari Sunar, Dhani Man Budha and Rupdhan Kami were elected in the ward; while Minar Sunar had a single nomination as Dalit woman member in Ward 6. The names of unopposed candidates will be made public later.
