Five-year master plan mooted for extensive development of Sarangkot

A five-year master plan worth Rs 290 million has been mooted for the extensive development of the famed tourist destination Sarangkot in Pokhara.
Sarangkot Religious Tourism Area Development Committee revealed its plan for the development organising a press meet.
Various infrastructural development projects, including the construction of a three-star hotel and a cable car line, have started here lately.
According to the committee chairperson Prem Bahadur GC, construction of various temples and monasteries, view towers, museums, children’s park and helipad, among others, are also on the cards.
“As for now the work is under way in partnership with various organisations,” GC said, adding that they were planning to organise a mahayagya to collect fund for the construction of a Shiva temple at an estimated cost of 50 million rupees.
Speaking at the programme, Mayor Man Bahadur GC expressed his commitment to broader development of Pokhara. “We’ll develop Pokhara as a city of international standard,” he vowed.
