CHITWAN: A five-year-old minor died and nine other persons have sustained injuries in a boat capsize in Rapti River at around 1 pm on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Dev Shrestha, a permanent resident of Lukla, Solukhumbu and currently residing in Kasara of West Chitwan.

All three of them were returning after performing a puja  at the Bikram Baba Temple across the Rapti River, said Chitwan District Police Office.

All injured including Keshav Shrestha (12), brother of the deceased, are undergoing treatment at Bharatpur College of Medical Sciences.

All of them are out of danger, said police.

As many as 40 people were aboard the boat.

Nepal Police and Nepal Army personnel with the help of the locals had rescued the injured.
