KATHMANDU, JUNE 14
Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal has arrived in Beijing for a four-day official visit to China at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, according to the Nepali Embassy in Beijing said today.
Khanal departed Kathmandu last night and arrived in Beijing in the afternoon local time. He was received at the airport by Nepal's Acting Ambassador to China Roshan Khanal and officials from China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Nepali Embassy hosted a reception in the Foreign Minister's honour on the evening of his arrival, during which he also interacted with members of the Nepali community in China.
During his stay, Khanal will hold bilateral talks with Wang Yi on strengthening Nepal-China relations and advancing mutual cooperation, and will hold separate meetings with senior Chinese officials. He will also participate in an investment conference organised by the Nepali Embassy in Beijing aimed at attracting foreign investment into Nepal, and will engage with Chinese entrepreneurs and business figures on the sidelines.
The Foreign Minister is scheduled to return to Kathmandu on June 17.
