KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 10

Minister for Foreign Affairs Arzu Rana Deuba has announced that the construction of the six-lane Chisapani-Gaddachauki road section of the East-West Mahendra Highway will commence soon.

Inaugurating the newly constructed administrative building of Lamkichuha Municipality in Kailali today, Minister Deuba stated that a survey is currently underway to expand the highway from Chisapani in Kailali to Gaddachauki in Kanchanpur, considering the increasing traffic volume.

"Sudurpaschim Province Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah is actively working to upgrade the highway to six lanes. The survey is in progress, and construction will begin soon," she affirmed.

Minister Deuba expressed confidence that the newly inaugurated administrative building would enhance service delivery for city residents by providing integrated municipal services.

She further emphasized the government's commitment to the holistic development of the agricultural sector in the region, adding that she was encouraged by the ongoing infrastructure development at the local level.

During her stay in Kailali, the Foreign Minister also inaugurated the newly built party office of Nepali Congress Kailali Region No. 2 and the Lamkichuha Municipal Committee.
