Damauli, May 17:

Food for work programme started in three remote village development committees — Kahun Shivapur, Bhjirkot and Baidi — of Tanhun district this week with the objective of digging motorway, according to District Development Committee, Tanahun.

“It is planned to dig eight out of 14 km motorway from Gumlek of Bhirkot to Bridge of Sudhe, Pokhari Bhanjyang VDC,” Sukadev Adhikari, technician of DDC, said.

Nearly 300 metric tonnes of rice would be distributed under the programme.

The programme would be implemented with the support of World Food Programme while District Development Committee and Ministry of Local Development will take responsibility of management and coordination, respectively.
