Food supply has been disrupted in 18 VDCs of Tanahun, Syangja, Nawalparasi and Palpa districts after floods, accompanied by landslides, wreaked the Bhimad-Malebagar causeway, which was being constructed over the Jiddhi River at Bhimad VDC-1 (Tanahun), a

few days ago.

Around nine lakh rupees had been spent for the construction of the causeway, said Khima Kant Parajuli, headmaster of the Janjyoti Higher Secondary School.

According to locals of the Bhimad bazaar, food supply has been disrupted because the trucks cannot cross the river. Though Rs 18,00,000 was allotted for blacktopping the Khairenitar-Bhimad road the amount was frozen.
