Food supply resumes in western districts

The Nepal Food Corporation (NFC)-Bheri zonal Office, Nepalgunj, has started transporting food supplies to the mid and far western districts hit by acute food shortage. The food supplies were airlifted to the districts of Kalikot, Jajarkot and Bajura, which are reeling under food shortage since mid-March. The districts of Kalikot, Mugu, Humla, Jumla, Dolpa, Jajarkot, Bajhang, Bajura, Rukum, Rolpa, Dailekh and Dang and Tulsipur, where food supplies are made through air-route, had not received any food supplies for the past one and half months. Bhupendra Swar, NFC zonal office chief said 70 quintals of rice was dispatched to Kalikot today. The supply was made by Simrik Air after Karnali Air refused.
