Foreign Minister Mahat visiting Australia

KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Prakash Sharan Mahat has left for Australia on an official visit on Tuesday.

According to a statement by the MoFA, Minister Mahat is scheduled to meet his Australian counterpart Julie Bishop, Minister for International Development and the Pacific Senator Concetta Fierravanti-Wells, and leader of opposition (Australian Labour Party) Bill Shorten, among others.

In the meetings, Mahat would discuss various aspects of bilateral relations.

Minister would also participate in the inaugural programme of Nepal Festival organised by the Non-Resident Nepali Association Australia as a Chief Guest in Sydney on November 26.

He would address the Nepali community there, the MoFA added.

Minister is accompanied by senior officials of the Ministry and Embassy of Nepal in Canberra.
