Central chairperson of the Press Chautari Nepal (PCN) Krishna Chapagain has called for the formation of a high-level media commission for carrying out reforms in the media. The new constitution to be drafted should guarantee the freedom of the press, Chapagain said while inaugurating the mid-western level gathering of the PCN in Ghorahi yesterday.

The gathering passed a proposal demanding the release of three journalists, who were detained during the movement. It also calls on the government to pay compensation to the journalists, who were injured, detained or tortured in course of the movement.
