KATHMANDU, MAY 25
Former Lieutenant-General of Nepali Army Balananda Sharma has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Covid-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC), on Monday.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Monday conferred the responsibility of the centre to Sharma.
The CCMC was newly reformed following issuance of "The COVID-19 Risk Management Ordinance, 2078 BS" by the President last week.
Earlier, the government had reorganised CCMC and formed a directive committee under the chair of PM KP Sharma Oli, withdrawing central leadership from Deputy Prime Minister Ishwor Pokhrel.
