KATHMANDU: Former lawmaker representing the Nepali Congress party, Balaraj Karki, passed away on Friday evening. He was 83.

The final rites of former Member of Parliament was held at the Pashupati Aryaghat today.

NC senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel wrapped the body of Karki with the NC flag to pay tributes on behalf of the party.

Also present at the Aryaghat to pay their final tributes were NC leader Prakash Man Singh, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi, Minister for Information and Communications Surendra Kumar Karki, among others.

Karki had been elected to the Parliament representing the NC from Okhaldhunga in the 1991 general elections.
