KATHMANDU, JUNE 8
CPN (Unified Socialist) Chair and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has expressed confidence that he will receive a clean chit from the Special Court in connection with a land scam involving Patanjali Yoga Peeth and Ayurveda Company Nepal.
Speaking at the first convention of the party's Madhes Province Liaison Committee on Saturday, Nepal criticized the decision to file a case against him. He said the land was provided based on the Cabinet's authority to make policy-level decisions, with the intention of promoting healthcare services for Nepali citizens.
The former PM added that he is consulting legal experts to defend the case and pledged to respect the court's verdict.
