Foster promises more aid
Nepalgunj, April 1:
British Minister for International Development Mike Foster today said his country would accept any decision of the Nepal Government and the Nepali people regarding the integration of the Nepali Army and the PLA.
Foster came here to inspect and observe the road construction project assisted by DFID and World Food Programme (WFP).
“Integration of PLA and Nepali Army is an internal affair, so the Nepalis people should themselves decide on it,” he told journalists. He also said Britain would increase its assistance to Nepal. He added that the UK would provide Rs 460 million for conflict-hit people of the hilly regions of the nation.
Talking to journalists after inspecting the Bheri Zonal Hospital today, Foster said he was confident of the Nepali government integrating the two armies wisely. Foster inspected different projects operated with British assistance. He will also observe the PLA cantonment in Kailali.
