Foundation stone laid for bus park

If everything goes as planned, Saptari’s Rajbiraj Municipality will get a new bus park within three years.

Secretary at Urban Development Ministry Dipendranath Sharma and Rajbiraj Municipality Mayor Shambhu Prasad Yadav jointly laid the foundation stone of the proposed bus park amidst a special programme organised today.

Kathmandu-based Synergy Builders Pvt Ltd has been entrusted with the project worth Rs 163.896 million with the project completion period set for January, 2021.

According to Urban Development and Building Construction Division Office Chief Ramesh Thing, the proposed facility to be built in four bigaha land in Rajbiraj Municipality-2 will feature shed, inner roads, clock tower, service centre, lavatories, terminal building and many other amenities. “There are various ongoing projects in the municipality now and the bus park is the biggest of them,” Thing said.

Mayor Yadav expressed his confidence that the construction of the modern bus park will put an end to the problem the municipality has been facing for a long time due to lack of a well-managed bus park.

Meanwhile, the Nepali Army have constructed and handed over a passenger lounge to the municipality. The lounge built at the old temporary bus park was prepared in 15 days by the Rajbiraj-based Bhimdal Battalion.
