Dang, July 11:

The joint police team of Dang and Banke today arrested four of an armed group responsible for the looting at Chyaukhola of Satabariya village development committee along the Mahendra Highway on July 9.

According to superintendent of police in Dang, Rajendra Shrestha, Bhim Bahadur Giri of Baijapur village development committee ward number 7, Prem Bahadur Sunar of Baijapur village development committee 4, Pratap BK and Durga BK were arrested under the joint efforts of the two district police offices.

Nine others of a group of some 13 persons, who were involved in the lootingon January 9, are absconding. The police said they have identified the looters. The police also confiscated the two sets of home-made guns, two pieces of khukuri, a piece of axe, a piece of pillet-bow and other logistics from them.

At a press conference held here today, the Dang district police office said that the gang had looted cash, ornaments and other valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from a minitruck (Bhe 1 Kha 911), a truck (Na 3 Kha 6885), a Kia bus (Lu 1 Ja 1304), a jeep (Lu 1 Ja 1070), a jeep with Indian number plate (HR 99 Trap 4112) at 11:00 pm on July 9.
