Four arrested thru campaign to control illegal drugs in Dhading

DHADING: Police in Dhading district, on Friday, reportedly arrested two persons in possession of illegal marijuana. Police in the district have launched a campaign to control illegal drugs by making the rounds in villages.

The arrested have been identified as Bed Bahadur Sarki and Thakur Ram Praja of Ruding area in Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-4.

Acting on a tip-off police raided the residence of Sarki and Praja and seized 4.5 kilograms (kg) of marijuana from the former's house and 9 kg from the latter's, according to Gajuri-based Area Police Office (APO).

Likewise, two teenage girls have been arrested for their alleged involvement in peddling illegal drugs.

Police identified the arrested girls as Sushmita Bhujel of Pokhara in Kaski district and Sejina Nepali (18) of Madi in Chitwan district, currently residing in Pokhara.

The APO on Friday sent all the arrested to Dhading District Police Office for further investigation.
