Four citizenship cards with same number!
Jhapa, August 1:
The District Administration Office, Jhapa, has issued citizenship certificates with same number to four different persons.
Bhakta Khawas, an employee at the Nepal Red Cross Society, came to know of this when he was trying to locate the records of her daughter’s citizenship. Citizenship certificate with registration number 11803632 was issued in the name of four persons and all of them on the basis of Nepali descendency.
Citizenship number 11803632 was issued for the first time to Om Prakash Agrawal, a resident of Bhadrapur on February 9, 1992, to Tara Devi Neupane of Bhadrapur-11 on March 4, 1992, to Sumnima Khawas, of Bhadrapur-4 on July 29, 1994 and Bhupendra Sitaula, of Bhadrapur on October 21, 1994.
An official at the help desk of the DAO said the fact was revealed while investigating the records in the office. Rudra Bahadur Khadka, an administrative officer at the DAO, Jhapa, said this might have occurred due to a mistake.
“It is a simple mistake because other details except the number are different in each certificate and this would make much difference while verifying citizenship cards,” said Khadka.
