PARASI, MAY 19

At least four persons died while 49 others sustained injuries after the bus they were travelling on fell below the road in Bardaghat-4 along the East-West Highway in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat- Susta West), this morning.

According to police, two of the four deceased have been identified as Kalpana Pun (27), of Triveni Rural Municipality-6 and Dhanaraj Gharty of Sisne Rural Municipality of Rukum-West.

The incident occurred when the bus (Na 5 Kha 2713), en route to Rukum- West from Kathmandu skidded off the road and fell some 200 metres below, near Khursani Khola in Daunne forest area at 6:00 am today, informed Inspector Basudev Nepal.

The bus was reportedly carrying a total of 58 passengers and 49 of them were injured in the incident.

The injured were rescued from the spot and were taken to local Chisapani Hospital and Sanjeevani Hospital, shared spokesperson of District Police Office DSP Raju Lama.

The other five passengers are in good condition, police said.
