Four electrocuted, one injured in Doti district

Dhangadi, July 3

Four persons died due to electrocution in Chasi of Adarsha Rural Municipality, Doti, on Tuesday.

The deceased have been identified as locals Jayandra Khadka, Birendra Khadka, Dipak Khadka and Harka Bahadur Khadka. Another person Bam Bahadur Khadka was seriously injured and had to be taken to Dipayal for treatment.

According to Harka Bahadur’s nephew Ganesh Bahadur, the incident occurred when they were stringing a power cable. “They were stringing a power cable by cutting power supply, but all of a sudden power was supplied to the cable and got them all,” he said, adding that the power cables were being strung in order to supply power to a crushing mill.

Deputy Superintendent of Police at District Police Office, Doti, Lal Bahadur Dhami said a police team had headed towards the incident site.
