Four killed in separate shooting incidents

Bara, June 6:

Four persons were killed in separate incidents across the country within the past 24 hours.

Bara-Parsa coordinator of the Akhil Tarai Mukti Morcha (ATMM), Jeetendra Tiwari, was killed when the police and ATMM cadres clashed at Piparpati Jabdi-4 in Bara district this morning.

The police said it swung into action when cadres of the ATMM were about to attack a police team at Piparpati Jabdi-4 near the Pasaha Bridge. Tiwari was killed in action, the police said.

Two pistols, three bullets, two socket bombs, a mobile set and documents were seized from Tiwari’s possession, Superintendent of Police at the Bara District Police Office, Hemanta Pal, said.

In Nawalparasi, a gang shot at Bhim Bahadur GC, 27, a technician at the Basabashi-based Chitwan Cement Factory last night.

GC, a resident of Chandani VDC-3, Kanchanpur, succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital, the Nawalparasi District Police Office said. In Dhanusha, Nepali Congress cadre Jeebchha Mahato, 50, of Bateshwor village, was shot dead last night.

Mahato was shot dead by a gang between Naktajhijha and Bateshwor VDCs on his way home at 8:30 pm, Dhanusha police said.

A report from Biratnagar said Manoj Poudel of Dangraha-6 was killed when armed dacoits shot at him last night.

A dozen robbers looted the village at midnight, Morang police said.

According to the police, Manoj was shot in the temple. The dacoits also detonated two socket bombs. Ten tolas of gold, three tolas of silver and cash amounting to Rs 25,000 was looted from 10 houses, the police said.
