Foxes attack, bite 7 locals in Khaptad in a day raising fears

KATHMANDU: Seven people including a school teacher in Chededah Rural Municipality-5 in Khaptad were attacked and bitten by foxes, today.

According to police, foxes attacked majority of the victims while they were working or commuting to home.

A school teacher, Lal Bahadur Rawat was attacked by the carnivore mammal while he was teaching third graders at Masteshwari Secondary School.

The injured including Rawat who are ongoing treatment at Dogadi were injected with rabies vaccine, Dogadi Health Centre informed.

The number of foxes attacking people has grown raising fears in the community despite the locals killing two foxes that had previously gone violent. Locals have stopping going out from their houses alone and the police have been informed on the situation.

Efforts are being taken to deal with the situation, local administration informed.
