Nepal Sports and Events Management Pvt Ltd on Sunday announced three new franchise teams for the second edition of the Khukri Nepal Super League.

The organisers have decided to add Jhapa FC, Birgunj United FC and Sporting Ilam de Mechi to the previous seven making it an 10-team event affair from this edition. "NSL is a nationwide league and we intend to make it a multi-city event moving into different cities every season," the organisers said.

According to the organisers, Jhapa FC is owned by Bikram Thapa, while Suhang Nembang and Piyush Neupane are the owners of Sporting Ilam. Likewise, Birgunj United are coowned by Arbindra Amatya, Anil Gupta and Arbind Baral.

Defending champions Kathmandu Rayzrs, Biratnagar City FC, Lalitpur City FC, FC Chitwan, Pokhara Thunders, Butwal Lumbini and Dhangadi FC are other teams in the tournament scheduled for April 9 to May 21 in Pokhara and Kathmandu.
