BAITADI: With the enforcement of the Nepal Education Project, the children of freed Haliyas are now under the reach of school education in Baitadi.

Efforts are being initiated to send children of freed Haliyas (previous bonded labourers) to school across the district as a part of the project implemented with the assistance of Informal Sector Service Centre (ISSC), according to the ISSC representative Sher Bahadur Chand.

He said, "A facilitating environment has been created in the district to establish provide to school education for the children 5-14 years, who were earlier deprived of going to school due to several reasons".

Some 109 such children are now receiving the education after the project’s intervention, he further informed.
