Kanchanpur, March 23

Thirty-five freed Haliya families have been rehabilitated in Bagfata of Bhimdutta Municipality-19, in Kanchanpur district .

The Land Reforms Office provided each family categorised under A group nine dhur of land and Rs 225,000 cash to build house. “We had never dreamed of a house of our own, as we lived on the roadside,” ManjuDamai said while urging the government to provide them with a source of income.

Likewise, Suresh Nagari, who had been living near the community forest is happy to get land plot and  house of his own.
